The most recent estimates of the DRAM market shows interesting growth margins than registered in the last quarter of 2009. The sequential increase was equal to 8, 8%, whereas the valid result refers to a period historically less strong than in the last three months of the year. Taking as reference the first quarter of 2009 shows strong growth in sales sector, equal to 178%, this result is obviously the result from one side of the sharp decline in sales of one year ago, part of the general market recovery from the third quarter of 2009. Samsung continues to hold a majority stake of market, with sales exceeding 3 billion U.S. dollars for a share of 32.6% of the total. Below, Hynix, with 21.7% market share and revenues in the period of slightly more than 2 billion dollars. Micron and Elpida follow with respectively 17.2% and 14.6% of the market, while Taiwan's Powerchip are fifth with 4.6% of the total followed by Nanya approximately 4% of the total. The market DRAM is very interesting right now: all manufacturers have registered very high growth rates on an annual basis but at this time should be outlined strategic choices for the coming years. Samsung seems to be directed towards strong capital investment, to meet a growth in production capacity. Other market players are taking a more conservative approach, mindful of the poor performance of recent years and the problems related to structural investments of such magnitude. It 'clear that the choices made in the coming months will set the scene for better production of DRAM manufacturers over the next 2 years.
